Lauca HPP

Lauca Dam is a 2,067 MW Hydro Power Plant located on the Cuanza River in Angola. It is situated on the borders of Cuanza Nort, Cuanza Sul and Malanje Province. Construction began in 2012 and the first generator of the power plant was commissioned on August 2017. The total value of the dam and power station was 4.3 billions USD.

The 132m tall roller compacted concrete dam holds a reservoir of 5,482,000 m3. The reservoir supplies two hydroelectric power stations, a main and an ancillary and the main contains six 334 MW Francis turbines generators.

Caculo Cabaca HPP

Caculo Cabaca Dam is a 2,172 MW Hydro Power Plant located in Sao Pedro da Quilemba, 74 km from Dondo on the Cuanza River in Angola. Construction began in August 2017, it’s estimated to be completed within six years and will have an estimated cost of 4.5 billion USD.

Caculo main dam type will be a concrete Face Rockfill with a maximum height of 100m and a 215m gross head.

Anglostar was successful in winning the tender for the Owners Engineering; the main scope will include Inventory, Technical, Economic Feasibility Studies, Basic Design and Environmental Impact Studies.
